About this experience

Join us on an exhilarating one-hour or two-hour ATV ride through the foothills of El Yunque National Forest! This invigorating ride exposes you to the spectacular scenery of Puerto Rico’s east coast as you roam through towering trees, tread through creeks, climb hills, and coast through vast rugged rainforest terrain on our 600cc ATVs!

Upon arrival, you are given a 10-minute introduction on how to operate the vehicle, including safety instructions. Then the real adventure begins as you ride through the rainforest, splash through the river, and more. Whether you are an experienced rider or a first-timer, you’re sure to have an exhilarating trip.

You also have the unique opportunity of stopping at Mameyes River, which comes directly from the rainforest, for a refreshing swim in its pure, clean, crystal-clear waters.

FAQ

  • Should I book the 1-hour or 2-hour ride?

The 2-hour ride if you can. You get more time on the trails plus a 30-minute swim in the Mameyes River, weather permitting. The 1-hour ride is a good fit if you're short on time or not sure you'll love it.

  • What's the difference between an ATV and a UTV?

An ATV is ridden like a motorcycle, with a passenger behind the driver. A UTV seats everyone side by side like a car and fits more people. See our El Yunque UTV tours.

  • How old do you have to be?

Drivers must be 16 or older with a physical, valid driver's license. Drivers and passengers must be at least 60 inches tall, and anyone under 18 needs someone 18 or older with them. Guests who don't meet these at check-in aren't refunded.

  • Do I need ATV experience?

No. Everyone gets a 10-minute lesson on driving the ATV and the safety rules before the ride, and a guide leads the group.

  • Is there a weight limit?

Yes, a combined 450 lbs per ATV.

  • What should I wear?

Closed-toe shoes and long pants are required. Wear clothes you don't mind getting muddy, bring a bathing suit for the river, and pack sunglasses or a bandana for the dust.

  • Who can't take this tour?

Pregnant guests, and anyone with heart conditions, abnormal blood pressure, back, neck or knee surgeries, motion sickness, dizziness or neurological problems.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 24 hours before your ride, by phone, for a full refund. Bookings made less than 24 hours ahead can't be refunded or changed, and no-shows are charged in full. If the park cancels for weather, you get a full refund.
