FAQ
How do I get to Vieques?
By ferry from Ceiba or by a short flight. The ferry is the cheapest option, and our ferry guide covers routes, schedules and fares.
Can I swim in the bay?
No. Swimming isn't allowed in Mosquito Bay or Laguna Grande. La Parguera, in the southwest, does allow it. See our La Parguera bio bay tour.
Do I need kayaking experience?
No. The kayaks are two-person, and guides give you a quick briefing before you launch.
Can kids come?
Yes, ages 1 and up, two to a kayak. The weight limit is 475 lbs per kayak.
Should I bring my phone?
It's your call, but cameras rarely capture the glow, and a phone dropped in the bay is gone. Plenty of guests leave theirs behind and just watch.
When is the best time to see the glow?
The glow is visible year-round, and it's brightest on cloudy or moonless nights. Our best time to visit guide covers the best months and moon phases.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancel in writing. More than 7 days before the tour: a refund minus a 25% fee, or a full credit good for 90 days. Between 7 days and 48 hours: a 50% refund. Within 48 hours: no refund. You get one free date change, subject to availability.
What happens if the weather is bad?
Tours run in light rain, clouds and moderate wind. If the operator cancels for unsafe weather, you choose a full refund or a full credit.
