About this experience

Strap in for an unforgettable ride through one of Puerto Rico's most breathtaking landscapes. Carabalí's UTV side-by-side tours take you across 600 acres of lush ranchland at the foot of El Yunque National Rainforest, with sweeping views of Puerto Rico's east coast at every turn.

Before you head out, your guide will walk you through a quick safety briefing and get you set up with a helmet. Whether you've never touched an off-road vehicle or you're a seasoned rider, you'll feel right at home.

On the two-hour tour, you'll also get 30 minutes to cool off and swim in the Mameyes River, a crystal-clear mountain river that flows straight down from El Yunque.

Choose a Yanmar Bull (driver plus up to 2 passengers) or a Big YBull (driver plus up to 5 passengers). Solo riders pay the 2-rider rate.

FAQ

  • Should I book the 1-hour or 2-hour ride?

The 2-hour ride if you can. Guests say it goes deeper into the forest, with more photo stops and a 30-minute swim in the Mameyes River, weather permitting.

  • What's the difference between a UTV and an ATV?

A UTV seats everyone side by side like a car, so families and groups ride together. An ATV is ridden like a motorcycle, with one passenger behind the driver. See our El Yunque ATV tours.

  • Who can drive and who can ride?

Drivers must be 16 or older with a physical, valid driver's license. Passengers must be at least 42 inches tall, measured at check-in, and anyone under 18 needs someone 18 or older with them.

  • How many people fit in one UTV?

Up to 6, with a maximum of 4 adults. Prices cover 1 to 2 people, and each extra rider adds $30 on the 1-hour ride or $60 on the 2-hour ride. Solo drivers pay the 2-person rate.

  • What if I don't want to drive?

Carabalí offers a guide-driven option, where a park guide drives and counts as one of the passengers.

  • Is there a weight limit?

Yes, a combined 900 lbs per UTV.

  • What should I wear?

Closed-toe shoes and long pants. Wear clothes you don't mind getting dirty, bring a bathing suit for the river, and pack sunglasses or a bandana, since the trails are dusty.

  • What is the cancellation policy?

Cancel at least 24 hours before your ride, by phone, for a full refund. Bookings made less than 24 hours ahead can't be refunded or changed, and no-shows are charged in full. If the park cancels for weather, you get a full refund.
