I had an amazing experience! The kayaking tour was so much fun and the team was incredibly friendly and helpful. I’m really grateful for how well they took care of us.
A couple of tips: I joined the 6:30pm tour, but if I were to do it again, I’d go for the 8:30pm one — the darker it is, the better you can see the bioluminescence. Also, if you can, go on a new moon night for the best conditions.
Bioluminescent kayaking in Puerto Rico was truly magical! Paddling through the calm waters at night, every stroke of the paddle lit up the water with a blue-green glow. It felt like the stars had fallen into the lagoon. The guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and made us feel safe the entire time.
Our tour was scheduled from 8:30 to 10:30 PM. The crew was amazing.. Special shout out to Angel, when we were struggling to move forward, he jus came as saviour connecting our kayak with his and towing us all the way
Such an amazing experience in the bioluminescent bay. The guides were helpful, knowledgeable and funny. The bay was so beautiful! And the kayaking was fun. Will definitely go back when we are in PR again!
Very good experience, there is enough instructors, everyone was sweet. They made this experience very fun, we saw the plankton, keep in mind if u go night kayaking it’s going to be really dark, and you’re going to get wet up to your knees, wear something comfortable it’s not going to be cold. Overall i recommend and the price is amazing
Slightly difficult for a novice paddler but overall a thrilling experience. Lots of fun and great to do by yourself or with a family.
We had a wonderful evening kayaking to the bioluminescence bay at the Laguna Grande Nature Reserve in Fajardo. The tour guides are very professional and helped keep our group together through the mangroves. The bio bay was beautiful and peaceful. It was a night we will never forget.

Laguna Grande – The Bio Bay Closest to San Juan
This is the island’s most accessible bio bay and Fajardo’s crown jewel. From the marina, you’ll paddle through mangrove channels alive with nighttime sounds, then glide into a lagoon that glows with every stroke of your paddle. Pair it with fresh seafood in town before or after your tour, or do a combo tour starting with a trek through El Yunque, just minutes away.
Guided tours lead you through mangrove channels and out into the glowing lagoon on a peaceful two-hour kayak trip. Local operators keep groups small and share stories about the bay’s ecosystem, history, and the science behind its light.
Tours book up fast, especially around new moon phases, so it’s worth reserving early to secure your spot.
